Microstructure Analysis of a Carbonate Rock located in an Anticline

-Written Research Report – a formal written presentation of technical, laboratory, or investigative research
-The research can be pure or applied geology or environmental science, and it must yield new, original information.
-You are to follow the format of a scientific journal (e.g., Geological Society of America Bulletin)
-The typical research paper is composed of the following sections; title page, acknowledgements, table of contents, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusions, references, and appendices.
-Figures and tables are included in the body of the report and there are no restrictions on the use of color or map foldouts.
-You need to include references to the published literature. Typically, at least 10 references are used, most often in the introduction as you explain the significance of the problem and in the discussion as you support your interpretations.

-I have to do a senior year research project in my major (geology) with unique research. The paper must fit the guidelines above. I worked with a professor in my degree and he came up with what I should do for the proposal and the research to do for it. I am on my own to do the final report write up and I honestly have no idea how to relate the two. I have 3 sources I must use also. I will attach the proposal and all of the notes, and pictures. Some pictures must be used but placed in the report how a typical report layout should be. I will include all of the pictures so there is enough to work with. I used a carbonate rock from the Seminoe Mountains in Wyoming and cut it with a rock saw and used the cut sample to make 3 thin sections and then looked at the thin sections using a regular microscope and a scanning electron microscope. I have all of the photos labeled with zoom, light type, and if it is SEM. Just use the research I did, paired with a few sources to relate it back to the proposal in the format it is supposed to be written in. I honestly don’t know what to write and quite frankly just want to be done with this major.
